F.A.Q (frequantly asked questions)

What do i do if my crab's legs are falling off!

Don't panic, if this happens. It is probably just stress related. After all, they are tken from their home in the wild, brought to a pet store, and then have to settle into a new home! That it a lot of work for a little crab!

Is it contagious?

No, it is not contagious. But you should always select your crabs carefully. Don't pick out a crab that is missing it's leg, pincher, or an eye!

My crab is loosing it's legs one by the hour! What do I do?

If your crab is loosing it's legs by the hour, there is nothing much you can do, besides isolateing him and putting him in his iso-unit. Keep him very comfortable until his death.

Help! My crab is nude!

Calm down. Pick up your nudie crab and dip him in water to wash off any sand on his body, rinse out his old shell, and then put him and his shell on a tableand put a glass on top of them. wait for the crab to go back into his shell.

If the first method did not work then, another way of getting you crab back into his shell is this way. Calmly pick up your crab and try to put him back into his shell, gently. If he still wont go in stick your finger in his shell to see if anything is in his way, preventing him from going back into his shell. If there is nothing there and he still wont go in try to put him in a different shell of the same size. Kepp trying with different size shells. NEVER try to stuff your crabbie into a smaller shell!

How do you get rid of mites?

Throw out any old substrate and completely wash out the tank. Mites are usually lurking around the corners of the cage, so make sure you get there too! To get rid of mites on their play/climbing toys, boil them in hot water for about 5 minutes. Wood and coral can be disinfected by putting them in the microwave for 2 minutes.
